Arizona State men's hockey to join NCHC in 2024-25 season Arizona State's men's hockey program will lose its independent status when it joins the NCHC for play beginning in the 2024-25 season. College Hockey South (CHS), formerly known as the South Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference (SECHC), is a non-varsity ice hockey conference in the Southern United States. The Summit League, a D-I all-sports league that does not sponsor hockey, soon issued the school an invitation, and worked with the school to obtain a waiver of an NCAA rule that would have otherwise prevented a direct move to D-I.
